1.7 | New Inspiration

Looking through some of my initial research for this unit, I discovered imagery of art installations by Carlo Bernardini and appreciated his use of geometry, angles and phosphorescent light. In an attempt to recreate this I set up a long exposure setting on my camera. To create different forms of light I used different thicknesses of bulb, a range of colours, a dynamic use of shapes and other lighting sources. Although I was unsuccessful in the creating of angular lines and geometric shapes, the effect that I had created instead was, in my opinion, better. The looser, less controlled effect reiterated the lack of control the glitches had shown previously in the unit. I would like to attempt this technique again using more focused colours and experimenting with shapes that can be made with light.
