2.5 | Illustration

A want to develop my Adobe Illustrator skills lead me to attend a workshop provided by course leader, Alex Russell. I found this workshop extremely helpful and have begun to further develop the skills that I learnt by creating fashion illustrations. Although the aesthetic of these illustrations are not at all what I want my final outcomes to be, I felt it was necessary to explore the option of completely digitally hand drawn designs. The process does not work, it is too regimented and I cannot perfect the face through this software. From this I have learnt that I would like to use photography within my illustrations and distort the figure slightly to highlight my ‘future human’ concept. For the trend book I think that it is key to explore in depth the aesthetic I am trying to create. However with the illustrations that I have created I plan to drop my print collection into them using displacement mapping, another skill I am keen to improve upon.
